Bridal Makeup FAQs

  • What is included in a wedding-day makeup application?

A skin prep, full face makeup application, false lash application (individual or strip) and a lip touch-up kit.

  • Do you offer airbrush foundation?

    Yes, I offer airbrush foundation.

During the makeup trial we’ll determine if airbrush makeup is the right type of foundation for you.

  • How do I secure my wedding date with the artist?

A signed contract and deposit secure your wedding date on my calendar.

  • Is a trial required?

Yes, a trial is required before the wedding day. Trials allow you to get comfortable with my work style, ensure we have a blueprint for your wedding day look and allow us both to make sure we vibe as client and vendor.

  • What makeup do you use in your kit?

I am an “unbranded” artist, so I use a variety of prestige makeup brands.

You’ll see everything from classic brands such as Estee Lauder, Bobbi Brown, Laura Mercier, NARS Cosmetics, Lancome, Chanel MAC and Dior, as well as new brands such as ILIA, MILK, Makeup by Mario, danessa myricks and many more.

  • Do you stay for touch-ups during the event?

I can do so for an additional fee based on timing and location. Additional fee will be clearly articulated in final contract.

  • What happens if the artist is sick or an emergency arises on the day of the wedding?

In the 10+ years I’ve been providing wedding makeup services, I have yet to miss a wedding. In the unlikely event of a health or family emergency, I will draw upon my wide network of colleagues to find a suitable replacement with similar aesthetic, experience, professionalism and skillset.

  • Are you comfortable working with all ages and ethnicities?

With over a decade of experience working in corporate, commercial and event settings, I’m extremely comfortable with any age, ethnicity or skin type. If you peruse my portfolios, you’ll see the wide range of humans with whom I’ve work.

  • Where does my wedding makeup trial take place?

Trials take place at my studio space in the Back Bay, Boston. Please see below for address:

207 Newbury Street, #205, Boston, MA 02116 (within Halo + Salt Salon).

  • When do I schedule my wedding makeup trial?

Brides schedule makeup trials anywhere from a month before the wedding to a year out, it's totally up to you. If you want to ensure we can create your perfect wedding look, let's get the trial on the calendar as soon as possible.

If you plan to have a tan for your wedding day, it’s optimal to have a similar skin tone for your trial. This isn't a necessity, as many summer brides do their trails in the winter, but I do think it's helpful to get a sense of how the makeup will look on your wedding day.

I try to accommodate specific date requests but trial timing is dependent on my availability.

  • Why do you prefer to schedule trials on the weekends?

Trials typically take place on Saturday or Sunday. My corporate and commercial work takes place during the week.

  • How are my fees calculated?

    The bridal makeup pricing includes:

    • Collaborating with an elevated makeup artist with over ten years of professional experience.

    • New and trending makeup products for the freshest and most contemporary makeup looks.

    • Top of the line skincare, good quality false lashes, lip touch-up kit and other items that the artist may provides to clients during a makeup application.

    • Time allocated to communicating with both the bride and/or event planner leading up to the day of the event.

    • Creating a wedding makeup timeline, mapping out travel time, building in touch-up time and adjusting schedule as needed.

    • Products to keep makeup kit items sanitized and clean. Disposable wands for sanitary applications.

  • When do I need a second artist?

Second artists have a similar skillset, style, experience level and professionalism as myself.

A second artist is required when more than nine faces are getting makeup or if there is a very compressed timeframe before the ceremony.

Since the second artist is comparable to my level of experience and skill, their daily rate and travel expenses are equivalent to mine. It's the most effective means to secure a high caliber artist.

The second artist fee covers the communication and coordination between the other artist and me. The fee also covers the lip kits and other products I supply for the second artist to use for their clients.
